A neat little gelato bar, gaily decorated in shades of orange and pink, selling ice-creams and sorbets made on the premises from carefully sourced ingredients. Every day, the ices are mixed and frozen at the same time, so the air is smoothly absorbed – whatever happens, it works.
We perched on a couple of the bar stools, and made light work of a salted caramel ice-cream (a smooth, sweet hit), a pink grapefruit sorbet (a delightfully sharp contrast to the caramel), an extra-noir chocolate sorbet (an excellent special, almost creamy enough to be an ice-cream), and an espresso ice-cream (our pick of the bunch). Other flavours included melon, strawberry, pistachio and stracciatella; there are a few cocktails, as well as coffee and tea. Charming service adds to the all-Italian experience.
