This bistro-bakery in the heart of Covent Garden is the latest venture by French-born pastry chef Dominique Ansel, the man famed for inventing the Cronut at his New York bakery in 2013. Still, this launch has one notable difference to Ansel's other venues (like the café-bakery in Victoria): there is not a Cronut in sight. Expected to open at the end of January 2020, the three-course menu will focus on carb-based classics, from savoury pies to gnocchi. Upstairs, there will be a 'treetop canopy' and seating, while on the ground-floor there will be a takeaway bakery counter.
