This swish Mayfair restaurant was one of a few restaurants opening toward the end of 2013 that aimed to bring higher-end Peruvian cooking to London. It's one of four venues sharing the COYA name and ethos, with sister sites in Angel Court, near Bank, Dubai, Abu Dhabi.
It looks good – think traditional Latin American aesthetic done with Mayfair money – with a central ceviche bar and an open charcoal grill providing the platform for much of the cooking. There's a separate bar, Pisco, on site too. Its speciality? Pisco sours, of course.
The food in the restaurant proper leads with ceviches and tiradito, with plates including Arroz Nikkei (Chilean sea bass with rice, lime, chilli) or pez limon (yellowtail with dashi, truffle oil and chives). Quinoa salads, tuna tacos, wagyu tatami and Josper grilled sirloin steaks with chimichurri also feature.
Keep an eye out for group, weekend brunch, set lunch, tasting and seasonal menus, too.
