Colonel Saab Trafalgar Square

Time Out says

You might know well the incredible things the Colonel Saab crew cook up at their Holborn restaurant, which means you’ll be well chuffed there’s somewhere even more central to get your Indian flavours at. And if you’re yet to see what these guys do? You’re in for a treat.

It’s a mix of classic Indian flavours with contemporary techniques, with a menu that showcases dishes from across the Indian subcontinent. That means kolhapuri lamb chops and Kandhari paneer tikka alongside, chicken Chettinad, Colonel Saab’s butter chicken (very nice), and Lucknowi aromatic lamb biryani.

Our only gripe? The excellent tiffin lunches are only available at the Holborn branch. Hopefully that’ll change soon.

Colonel Saab Trafalgar Square says
Colonel Saab, newly opened in Trafalgar Square after its Holborn success, offers a mix of traditional Indian flavours and modern culinary techniques. The menu showcases aromatic signature dishes and innovative starters, highlighting culinary excellence.

The ambiance, inspired by the Choudhary family's Indian journeys, features a bar, lounge, dining area with Firozabad chandeliers, a mezzanine, and two private dining rooms. Restaurateur Roop Partap Choudhary has created a space celebrating Indian cuisine and heritage, providing a welcoming atmosphere for guests to enjoy India's culinary art in London.

Colonel Saab is a group of distinguished Indian restaurants from Roop Partap Choudhary. They offer an exquisite Indian fine dining experience that captures the essence of both heritage and innovation. These restaurants are inspired by the travel stories of Roop's father, Colonel Manbeer Choudhary, an Indian Army officer, and his wife Mrs. Binny Choudhary, journeying across the Indian subcontinent. Crafted by Roop as a “love letter” to his family and as a tribute to India, each location reflects a unique facet of these journeys.
