Though it’s now run by the same people, Café Mozart is always as busy without quite reaching the same level of easy bonhomie as neighbouring Kalendar. As if to please its musical namesake, the café takes an old-fashioned Austrian approach to decor: rickety wood panels, rustic furniture and an old violin nailed to the wall for good measure. There’s also an attractive spread of cakes: large slabs of sachertorte and chocolate slices aplenty are best shared, accompanied by mugs of decent coffee. Tiny tots can get a headstart in the habit of a lifetime with voguish babycinos. For the purist diner, sauerkraut, bratwurst and the like are all well executed, though specials such as tomato crêpes with spinach may be more tempting for those seeking a lighter lunch.
