It may be located in Lewisham College car park, but Brockley Market has evolved into South London’s finest – and a Saturday morning staple (10am-2pm) throughout the year. Stylish SE4 locals mill around, stocking up on organic meats, artisan breads, cheese and other locally sourced produce while snaffling down coffee, imported wines and fine street food. It’s long been a trendsetter: foraging heroes Mike + Ollie and cult burger faves Mother Flipper started out here, and still ply their trade on a weekly basis, but also look out for BBQ Dreamz (brilliant Filipino backyard barbecue), Pochi’s Japanese soboro bento boxes and Crosstown Doughnuts’ wacky sweet treats. Queues can be lengthy – and seating’s limited to a few benches – but everything here is worth the wait and the vibe is super-friendly. Also remember that Brockley Market is cash-only, so make sure you swing by an ATM first.
