Wine pairings are for wimps. Dalston BBQ spot Acme Fire Cult is celebrating the arrival of summer by launching a whiskey pairing menu for the whole month of July. With four dishes and three Jameson Black Barrel cocktails, the live-fire and veg-focussed joint – which is one of Time Out's Top 50 restaurants in London – will be offering up the scrummy likes of grilled corn ribs and fireside polenta with ancho chilli-corn butter and smoked chalk stream trout with bone and whiskey glaze. The drinks include a cherry mint julep, ginger sparkler and Black Barrel Velvet made with 40ft Brewery stout reduction, Acme Fire Cult ‘spent coffee’ kombucha cordial, and demerara syrup. Every one of them a future cult classic.
