This day-long tribute to composer Brian Ferneyhough kicks off at 11am with BBC Radio 3's Tom Service offering an introduction to the vibrant music of the composer ahead of a screening of a filmed performance of Ferneyhough's cello piece, 'Time and Motion Study II'. At 1pm, composer Julian Anderson joins Ferneyhough to introduce a performance of Sonatas for String Quartet and his Second String Quartet. The concert is followed by a 3.30pm talk in which Service chats with Ferneyhough about his life and music. Finally, at 7pm Julian Anderson and Ferneyhough introduce 'La Terre Est Un Homme', 'Carceri D'Invenzione III', 'Missa Brevis' and a premiere of 'Plötzlichkeit'. Martyn Brabbins conducts.
