Players from the Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment hit the New Cross pub for a relaxed evening of drinking and baroque music, in particular the bohemian violinist/composer Heinrich Ignaz Franz von Biber. With a programme also featuring classical A-Listers Handel and Purcell, it’s a rare opportunity to hear some of the world’s greatest composers played by top performers, in a relaxed pub atmosphere. Presented by James Redwood, the OAE players will also be improvising a new piece inspired by the music of the evening, and there’ll even be a few drinking songs to finish the night off.
Sets at 8.30pm and 9.30pm.
(Players: Ken Aiso, violin, Jonathan Rees, cello, and David Gordon harpsichord.)
