An evening of operatic entertainment hosted by Australian tenor Stuart Skelton. He and Iain Paterson, both exciting young Wagner singers, are joined by fellow opera singers Leigh Melrose, Pamela Helen Stephen and Sarah Tynan for an evening of arias and songs from the world of opera and musical theatre.
The programme for the evening includes 'The Prize Song' ('The Mastersingers of Nuremberg') sung by Skelton. Paterson sings a couple of Wotan’s arias from 'The Valkyrie'. Stephen sings an aria from 'Julius Caesar', and Skelton joins her in 'It’s You, It’s Me', from 'Carmen'. The second half features some lighter repertoire.
(The evening will raise funds for ENO’s pioneering talent programmes, including the ENO Harewood Artists programme.)
