Following on from their success in the London Sinfonietta’s inaugural Blue Touch Paper programme, promoting the next generation of composers and interdisciplinary collaborators, composer Elspeth Brooke, puppeteer Seonaid Goody and director Anna Jones continue their groundbreaking collaboration to create an original version of an extraordinary myth.
Combining puppetry, electronic soundscape and live music, 'At the World’s Edge' recasts the Greek myth of Persephone’s descent into the underworld and her mother’s epic search to get her back. As puppets move and transform in and around the space, music shapes a magical story that is both humorous and tragic, and a soaring adventure for the eyes and ears.
Programme to also include:
R Murray Schafer: Selection from 'The Crown of Ariadne'
Simon Holt: 'Shadow Realm'
