Little-known orchestral arrangements by a certain Gustav Mahler are the focus of tonight's concert, which comes courtesy of the London Philharmonic Orchestra under Vladimir Jurowski. They perform Mahler's Suite for string orchestra, harpsichord and organ arranged from the orchestral works of J S Bach, and his explosive arrangement of Beethoven's dramatic String Quartet in F minor, Op 95. Also on the programme is Shostakovich's Violin Concerto No 2 played by Dutch violinist Janine Jansen; and Webern's Five Movements, Op 5.
