Ian Bousfield, principal trombone of the Vienna Philharmonic and Visiting Professor at the Academy, performs works from the Baroque to the twentieth-century arranged for solo trombone and ensemble, with Academy trombonists under the direction of trombone professor Bob Hughes. Andrea Gabrieli arr Karl Hinterbichler Two Renaissance Madrigals; Bruckner's 'Locus Iste'; Mozart's Concerto No 2 in E flat for horn and orchestra, K.417 transcr for trombone and piano; Schumann's Three Romances, Op 94, transcr for trombone and piano; Rachmaninov's Allegro mosso from Cello Sonata in G minor, Op 19; Korngold's Excerpts from 'Die Tote Stadt'; and a tribute to Arthur Pryor: A selection of virtuosic and entertaining works that earned Pryor the nickname 'The Paganini of the Trombone'.
