Trinity Laban presents Offenbach's saucy comedy based on the tragic myth of Orpheus. Set in three acts, this English adaptation follows the journey of the musician from his home, where he teaches violin, to Mount Olympus to demand from Jupiter the return of his wife, Eurydice. She has been seduced and taken off by Pluto, God of Hades, to the Underworld –here a wild, Parisian-style night-club, where she has been engaged as a cabaret singer. Jupiter decides that he and his whole assembly of gods and goddesses should take a trip to Hades to sort the matter out, much to their delight. The evening reaches its climax with the riotous and rebellious 'Can-Can'.
Directed by Simon Iorio ; the conductor is Rossen Gergov ; with choreography from Kate Webster.
