Time Out says

William Lyons presents an illustrated lecture (with Trinity College student singers): 'Raised Voices': Was the Renaissance the turning point for Western music? Was music perceived as science or art?

(A six-part series designed for those who have an interest or even a passion for music, but feel they don't know how it works. The interactive lectures are presented in a non-patronising fashion that excludes unnecessary technical terms and allows the participants to ask questions and explore what goes on in the minds of musicians, during rehearsals and performances. The series takes place over six weeks and delves into a 400-year journey from music of the Renaissance to the Romantic era, with a focus on prominent instruments from those periods. Sessions one to five will feature eminent musicians as our guest presenters, with the final session led by sound collective's Tom Hammond.)
