The Philharmonia under Lorin Maazel continues with its cycle of Mahler symphonies in a performance of Mahler's 'Rückert-Lieder' and Symphony No 4 – a work which brings together many of the tunes from the composer's settings of the German folk poems 'Des Knaben Wunderhorn'. With soprano Sarah Fox and baritone Simon Keenlyside. (Note: at 6pm in the RFH, 'Visions of Heaven and Earth'. Julian Johnson explores the world of Mahler's 'Wunderhorn' songs, with live musical illustrations from a soprano and piano; free.)
