The BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra under Ilan Volkov, with violinist Viktoria Mullova and cellist Matthew Barley, performs Thomas Larcher's Concerto for Violin, Cello and Orchestra (BBC Commission, World Premiere); and Bruckner's Symphony No 5 in B flat (ed Nowak). (Note: at 5.15pm there is a Proms Plus event at the Royal College of Music. Thomas Larcher discusses his Double Concerto with Andrew McGregor, and introduces performances of his Antennen- Requiem für H. and extracts from his Cello Sonata and Kraken by musicians from the Royal College of Music.)
