King Priam

English Touring Opera bring Michael Tippet's major, rarely performed second opera 'King Priam' to the Linbury Studio. Written to mark the re-consecration of Coventry cathedral, the opera evokes the last days of Troy as set out in Homer's 'Illiad'. British Baritone Roderick Earle sings the King of Troy and Lure Meloy is Hecuba. Michael Rosewell conducts and James Conway directs.
