Indian Classical Music

A programme of Indian classical music featuring two accomplished sitar players, both of them disciples of the sarod master Amjad Ali Khan, who curates this concert as part of his Wigmore Hall residency. Initially, Amjad Ali Khan joins the sitar duo Sunil Saxena and Smita Nagdev, when all three musicians perform together. After the interval, the Hindustani tradition of romantic and devotional Thumri singing is realised by vocalist Sunanda Sharma.
