Henry Purcell

The Dante Quartet plays Purcell arr Britten) Chacony in G minor; Britten's String Quartet No 2 in C, Op 36; Purcell's Fantasia upon one note; and Britten's String Quartet No 3, Op 94 ('La Serenissima'). (Note: at 6pm, a pre-concert talk with David Matthews and the Dante Quartet. In 1975 Britten invited composer David Matthews and his brother Colin to try out this String Quartet No 3, newly completed, on the piano at his home in Aldeburgh.
