In homage to Britten and Auden's 1936 film 'Night Mail', the composer Graham Fitkin and poet Glyn Maxwell travelled together on the Olympic Javelin Train (King's Cross to Stratford International) and recorded the journey. Their material was sent to children participating in The London Chamber Orchestra's Music Junction education project, who in turn provided initial motifs to composer and poet. The resulting work is a literal and hauntingly symbolic musical representation of the train, its journey and the journey of the athletes towards the greatest stage of all. Played by London Chamber Orchestra and the Graham Fitkin Band. Plus, Britten's'Night Mail',;Fitkin's'Vamp'; 'South'; 'Hotpo';and 'The Athlon'.
