In the first of a three mini-concert series, the acclaimed pianist Ivana Gavric joins Aurora Orchestra's principal players to explore the electrifying instrumental and chamber repertoire of Leos Janácek, with Nicholas Mulroy (tenor), Lucie Spicková (mezzo-soprano) and pianist John Reid. Janácek's Piano Sonata 1.X.1905 ('From the Street, JW 8/19): I. Piedtucha (Foreboding); II. Smrt (Death); and 'The Diary of One Who Disappeared' (Zápisník zmizelého) – a song-cycle for tenor, alto, three female voices and piano, JW 5/12.
