The London Symphony Orchestra, London Symphony Chorus and The London Philharmonic Choir under Sir Colin Davis perform Beethoven's Missa Solemnis. With soprano Carmen Giannattasio, mezzo-soprano Sarah Connolly, tenor Paul Groves and bass Matthew Rose. (Note: at 1pm and 5.15pm there are Proms Plus events at the Royal College of Music. At 1pm amateur singers are invited to join professional singers in a rehearsal of movements from Beethoven's Missa Solemnis'. Then, at 5.15pm, in the last in the series of introductions to the music performed in Proms Choral Sundays, Sara Mohr-Pietsch explores Beethoven's Missa solemnis, with recorded extracts and with live music examples from members of the London Symphony Orchestra.)
