A programme of works by French composer Lola Perrin ('a female Steve Reich') begins with solo piano, moving on to a piano duet setting jazz improvisation against minimalist patterns, and the combining of acoustic and electronics with narration. The second half presents filmmakers Phil Maxwell and Hazuan Hashim's 'Going East', a 45-minute feast of film and piano accompaniment with guest vocalist Natacha Atlas that travels from London's East End to Asia in a touching portrait of struggle and humanity. Performed by pianist Roland Perrin, cellist Kate Shortt, bass clarinettist Sarah Watts, Alexis Kirke, electronics, Jonathan Bonnici (narrator) and filmmakers Maxwell and Hashim.
