The new night tube service on Friday and Saturday nights lets Londoners and visitors explore the city’s late-night bars, clubs and pubs without having to dash for the last train – and gives a huge boost to London’s nightlife in the process. To celebrate this major shake-up for nocturnal fun in London, we’ve plotted the best late-night drinking dens – bars, clubs, eateries and a few pubs – within staggering distance along the newly nocturnal Victoria line.

Victoria line bars and clubs

Check the events calendar at Styx Bar, just round the corner from Tottenham Hale tube: it’s often open late for parties and club nights.

Get off here and take a stroll up Seven Sisters Road for The Beehive, a modern pub open until 1.30am on Fridays and Saturdays.

Lively gastropub the Bedford Tavern serves up craft beer till 2am on Fridays and Saturdays, and Orleans hosts occasional soul all-nighters. And there’s always Rowans Bowl, where you can dance, drink and maybe strike lucky till 2.30am.

A long-established gig spot, The Garage also hosts club nights every weekend, covering a wide range of musical bases and usually closing at 4am. Just down Upper Street, Little Bat serves cocktails till 1am, and there are three storeys of late-night fun at The Doll’s House, also open till 4am.

If you’re in need of a late-night tipple around here, the luxurious bar at the Gilbert Scott is open till late and Shaker & Company serves up cocktails until 1am.

Cocktails are the thing in north Fitzrovia: Simmons Fitzrovia is cheap and cheerful and open until 1am, while the Lucky Pig goes for speakeasy sophistication till 2am.

Smarten up and step out into the streets of Mayfair for some swanky clubbing at Mahiki or Fifty 9, or head to Mr Fogg’s for strong cocktails and junk-shop quirk. Relaunched ’60s nightclub The Scotch of St James is open till 5am but you’ll need to reserve a table if you want in.

A glossy nightclub located around one side of Victoria station, The Qube Project is open until 6am on event nights, with last entry at 4.30am. Next door Konnect runs late every Saturday, with last entry around 2.30am and no denim, hats or trainers allowed.

Stagger down Stockwell Road and Sidney Road and you’ll end up at Brixton Jamm, a south London stalwart that books jump-up dance DJs until 4am or later every weekend.
