Just one of the many bizarre endeavours at uber-kooky Hot Breath Karaoke, which has been running for over ten years, led by inimitable, delightfully eccentric host and party-starter extraordinaire Mike Gabel. Prizes are also a key part of the action here, and all singers gets to spin a wheel that decides what – or if – you win. Treats over the years have included wasabi peas, Toblerones melted into the shape of Caribbean islands, vibrators (on Valentine’s Day, naturally), a basketball hoop (for anyone who sang while wearing an anti-bark spray collar designed for dogs) and luxury Spanish ham. Think you’re too good for ham? Former HBK attendees Alexis Taylor of Hot Chip, Dexy’s Midnight Runners frontman Kevin Rowland Beth Ditto, Patrick Wolf and Gareth Gates aren't.
