Year in review: Londoners were obsessed with wild swimming

The scorching summer brought us pits so sweaty that grey marl T-shirts were condemned to the bottom of the clothes pile for months. It also inspired an Instagram feed full of rather glamorous-looking ‘hashtag influencers’, aka you, taking a dip in a magical-looking wild swimming spot. Said spot was Hackney Marshes and you scaled a muddy bank covered in crisp packets before wading through reeds to reach that thigh-high water. Back on dry land, you put a filter on your photo so it resembled a sparkling Swiss lake. We know, cos we did it too. (Swim safe everyone!)
