Some 400,000 NHS staff are expected to work on Christmas Day alone this year, giving up time with loved ones to care for patients and their families. And with public transport winding down for the festive period, trying to get to or from a long shift can be especially tough.

In a bid to make things a little easier, Uber is once again offering all NHS staff across England, Scotland and Wales two Uber trips to get to and from work over the Christmas period or (new for this year) two meals from Uber Eats – and the deadline to register is 9am this Friday (December 20).

To claim the offer, all you have to do is visit www.uber.com/nhs and enter your official NHS email address. You’ll receive an email with your code(s) by December 22, which you can then apply in the Uber app.

‘We all know someone who works tirelessly over Christmas to keep the NHS running, and this is our way of saying thank you,’ says Jamie Heywood, Uber’s regional general manager for Northern and Eastern Europe. For the third year, we’re offering NHS doctors, nurses and support staff a helping hand to get to and from work at Christmas time.’
