1. Find out all about different critters' sleeping habits at 'Sleep Across the Animal Kingdom', a talk at the Grant Museum of Zoology discussing snoozing patterns from humans to flies. The talk starts at 7:30pm. Entry is free, but booking is essential.

2. Drag, disco and charity all meet for 'Small Pleasures', a variety show at the Royal Vauxhall Tavern hosted by Four Gay Triplets and raising money for Lesbians and Gays Support Migrants. See brilliant LGBT acts, win raffle prizes and dance to a DJ set from Time Out's music and nightlife editor Oliver Keens. The evening starts at 7pm and there's a suggested donation of £7 on the door.

3. Crafting is all the rage in this city, but learning to weave and knit can come with a pricetag. If you're not feeling flush you can crochet, collage and glue pom poms earrings completely free of charge at 'The Make Escape Craft Night' at Hackney Attic. Head there for free from 7:30pm.
