PSA to north Londoners. Are you a frequenter of bus routes 121, W4 and W6? We’ve got good news! From this month, those bus services are set to get much more regular and run for longer.

Let’s break it down. Instead of every 15 minutes, route 121, which runs between Enfield Island Village and Turnpike Lane Bus Station, will now run every 10 minutes during the day on Sundays from 9am until around 7.30pm.

Route W4, which serves the North Circular at Palmers Green to Ferry Lane in Tottenham Hale, is going to start operating every 15 minutes (instead of 20) before 7.30am on weekdays, before 8.30am on Saturdays and every 15 minutes instead of every half hour before 10.15am on Sundays.

Those W4 buses will now begin 90 minutes earlier in the day than before and finish 45 minutes later to help improve the late night interchange between buses and rail or tube services at Edmonton Green, Palmers Green and Southgate stations.

Finally, the W6 (between Southgate Station and Edmonton Green Station, via North Middlesex Hospital) will begin running every 15 minutes instead of every 20 mins before 7.15am on weekdays. On weekends it’ll run every 15 minutes instead of every half hour before 7am on Saturdays and before 9am on Sundays.

The W6 service will also run every 15 minutes instead of every 30 on all evenings of the week after 8pm on Monday to Fridays and 6pm on Saturdays and Sundays.

TfL says it’s going to keep a close eye on these changes as they come into effect to make sure demand continues to be met.
