By the looks of things, 2025 is set to be truly stonking year for London. Back in December here at Time Out we wrote that the new V&A East Storehouse will be one of the world’s best new things to do this year, while also singing the praises of Sadler’s Wells East and Walthamstow’s Soho Theatre. Then just last week we named London one of the best cities in the world for 2025.

And now there’s even more to look forward to in the capital. Time Out has just unveiled our list of the 15 best places to visit in the UK in 2025, and a London neighbourhood made the cut. Stratford is the London nabe we reckon is most worth exploring this year.

So, why Stratford? Well, in her praise for the east London area Time Out London Things To Do editor Rosie Hewitson picked out the arrival of two new venues, Sadler’s Wells East and V&A East Storehouse, as putting the spotlight back on Stratford.

Rosie also highlighted the canalside bars and cafés of creative hub Here East, saying overall that ‘there’s a hell of a lot more to Stratford than an overstimulating shopping mall mainly frequented by secondary school students and lairy blokes on the way to a West Ham match’.

Stratford came second in Time Out’s list of the most essential places to visit in the UK this year. Top is Folkestone, which this year will see the return of its triennial, a major event in the UK art calendar. Also featured in the list are the likes of Stoke-on-Trent, Orkney, Bradford, Southampton and Cardiff
