A couple of months ago, keen Time Out readers may recall that the Little Green Dragon, a tiny-but-mighty micropub in Winchmore Hill, was crowned the capital’s best boozer for 2024 by the Campaign For Real Ale (CAMRA).
And now there’s more fab news for the Little Green Dragon. Today (October 17) it’s been revealed that the north London pocket pub has officially made it through to the final four for CAMRA’s prestigious Pub of the Year prize. That’s right, one of the best boozers in all the land is officially right here in the capital.
LGD opened in 2017 as Enfield’s first micropub and serves a range of beers, ales, ciders, perries and gins. CAMRA’s commendation praised the pub for a whole host of reasons, from its ‘everchanging selection of cask beers’ to its ‘eclectic range of seating’.
Commenting on his pub making it through to CAMRA’s grand final, Little Green Dragon owner Richard Reeves said: ‘I was delighted (and also a little shocked) to learn that our little micropub had been judged by CAMRA as one of the top four pubs in the UK!
‘Clearly, at this stage of the competition, it is about far more than beer quality, so I really must thank my incredible family and staff and amazing regulars for making visitors feel so welcome in the Little Green Dragon.’
The Little Green Dragon will face three other pubs in the final: Preston’s Black Horse, Bridlington’s Three B’s and Oswestry’s Bailey Head. The overall champion will be revealed in January 2025 – good luck, Little Green Dragon!
