Wondering where to do your wooing this Valentine’s Day? Wonder no longer, as we have just revealed our brand new list of London’s most romantic restaurants.
This city is full of lovely little spots that’ll make your heart beat faster – and not just due to the size of the bill. Time Out’s new list for 2025 includes perfect little bistros and floating restaurants on boats, as well as old school French fancies, and noodle bars in former sausage shops.
The top 25, however, was topped by a relative newcomer; Mayfair’s The Dover. The Dover only opened in 2023, but over the past year it has become one of central London’s most acclaimed spots. It is – thankfully – not too Mayfair-y either. This isn’t one of those uptight Mayfair spots, but rather a sexy, New York Italian-styled joint with gorgeous walnut wood walls that seem lifted directly from a 1930s cruise liner. It’s also got an excellent array of discreet corner booths, extremely flattering lighting and a menu full of horny little dishes such as crispy potato cakes with caviar, lobster bisque ravioli, and spaghetti meatballs for that perfect Lady & the Tramp moment.
The Dover also has a gorgeous no-bookings, first-come, first-served bar, where you and your date can simply turn up and scoff bar snacks, such as mini hot dogs, while sipping their extremely punchy martinis.
