[title]
For anyone who’s ever watched ‘Cool Runnings’ and fancied themselves as equally unlikely winter sports victors, this one’s for you.
Transforming Stratford’s East Village E20 into an Alpine Adventureland for two days (Friday December 15 and Saturday December 16), the centrepiece of the event will be a giant, 25 metre-long snow slide, to satisfy all your sledding needs.
Sure, you’ll have to go down it on a rubber ring rather than a bobsleigh. And sure, it’s not quite an Olympic course (although the space is situated on the site of the London 2012 Athletes’ Village). But it’s a lot closer than you’ll get than watching the film on your laptop for the twentieth time.
What’s more, the whole icy shebang is free, although voluntary donations to the East End Community Foundation (an initiative providing activities for children in the holidays) are encouraged.
It’ll be open from noon-8pm each day. Altogether, now: ‘Feel the rhythm! Feel the rhyme! Get on up, it’s ice slide time!’

And why not indulge in a little après-slide at one of these cosy winter pop-ups?
