Are you a regular Piccadilly line passenger? You may want to make alternative arrangements over the coming months. Since November, the line has been suffering a string of closures and delays and this week it was revealed that the closure of the Rayners Lane to Uxbridge leg will continue into mid-January.

Now, to add to the disruption, TfL has announced that parts of the Piccadilly line will be shut almost every weekend for the next six months. The closures will include busy central London stations like Hyde Park Corner, King’s Cross St Pancras, Covent Garden and Leicester Square.

It’s certainly not the news you want to hear, but good things come to those who wait. The closures are to allow for a £2.9bn upgrade and to prep the line for the arrival of its swanky new air-conditioned, walk-through trains. Take a look at all the weekend closures from January to June below.
