Swap London for a running festival in rural Wales

Feeling more than a little sorry for yourself after Glasto? Love Trails, the world’s first running and music event, is making festival season wholesome again – and we’re not just talking about your standard wellness tent.

Over four days of camping in a quiet corner of Wales, revellers will take part in social runs – from 5k to 55k in length, along coastal paths, across islands and through woodland – plus orienteering challenges, sunset jogs, plogging missions, wild swimming, wellbeing workshops and yoga classes.

If that sounds far too much like hard work, you can also work up a solid sweat running to wine-tastings, sauna sessions and hot tubs, or take part in a pub crawl run or a beer relay race. Plus there are also DJ sets, live music, food and bars to keep the fun going after your workout endorphin hit.

Whether you’re ready to swap your trusty wellies for Lycra leggings or not, sprinting along the sand sure sounds more appealing than jogging beside the 91 bus.

Gower Peninsula, Wales. July 4-7. £74 (day), £159 (weekend). Find out more here
