After the proper bun flight which greeted the London arrival of Sandwich Sandwich earlier this year, it comes as no surprise that the Bristol-born sarnie slingers are opening a second shop in the capital.
It’ll open its doors early next year on Mark Lane in the City of London, and promises to be the largest sandwich shop in the UK, spanning a whopping 3,500 sq ft. For comparative purposes, the ‘mega Greggs’ in Leicester Square is only a mere 1,500 sq ft.
The business started in Bristol in 2010 and in July of this year opened its first London branch on Gresham Street by St Paul's. Mere days after opening, they topped Time Out’s fan-voted Sammie Slam to be named the makers of the best sandwiches in London.
Speaking about the new shop, founder Nick Kleiner said: ‘We’ve gained invaluable insights from our experience at Gresham Street. We’ve listened closely to our customers and have used their feedback to shape Mark Lane, ensuring it provides an even better experience for our customers.’
This means a bigger grab and go section, as well as their bespoke deli options on offer. City workers, your lunchtimes are about to get that little bit more deeply filled.
