Do you drive in London? You might want to check your driving around some of these notorious traffic cameras or risk getting a hefty fine. It turns out, the traffic camera which makes the most money in Britain is in London, so road hogs and boy racers better watch out.
Research by the Daily Mail looking at data from the past 17 months has found the top 10 most expensive cameras in the UK, and eight of them are in the capital.
The Bull Lane, in Enfield, is where you’re most likely to get caught for bad driving in the UK – it has raked in £8 million since August 2023. The camera, which is on the bus gate near North Middlesex University Hospital and Tottenham Hotspur football stadium, has handed out 63,134 fines over the past year, the equivalent to 172 per day.
The second worst London location was Bank Junction, with £3.2 million worth of penalties generated over the recorded period. In third it was Dulwich Village, which has cost unruly drivers £2.9 millon in fines. Other locations in the top 10 were Dermody Road in Lewisham, Browning Road in Newham and Parsons Mead in Croydon.
