Club nights dedicated to some of music’s biggest stars are not a new thing. An Abba party has been a regular staple of London’s nostalgia-loving late-night scene for a couple of years now, while nights dedicated to Robbie Williams, Cher and more have all popped up for their turn on the mic.
But here’s an announcement that any fine, fierce, free-loving Londoner who wants to feel their damn selves on a Friday night can get on board with: an evening dedicated to the queen (sorry, kween) of sassy empowerment, Lizzo.
Taking over the suitably-sparkly interiors of Hackney’s Moth Club on November 15, Everybody Loves Lizzo promises ‘to celebrate life, love and dancing’, all to a soundtrack of roof-raising female power anthems.
Expect the likes of Beyoncé (duh), Missy, Lorde, Robyn, TLC, Miley and – of course – loads of Lizzo to fill the floor. Your job? Simply to live your best life, and give zero fucks about anything else.
Up the tempo, Friday night’s about to get juicy.
