Londoners can’t get enough Neapolitan pizza. From Dough Hands (our best pizza in London, btw), to Yard Sale, Flat Earth, Napoli on the Road and more, our city is absolutely teeming with pizza joints slinging Naples-style pies.

And good news, because one more is about to come into the mix. The much-loved 081 Pizzeria, which happens to be ranked 43rd on the Best Pizzas in Europe list by 50 Top Pizza, is opening a second restaurant in London.

081 already has an outpost in Peckham, and now it’s coming to Shoreditch, opening its next London outpost on Friday, April 4. 081 Pizzeria will take over the former site of Iron Bloom on Eastern Street with space for 60 covers.

The Naples-born Andrea Ascuiti started 081 as a pop-up in a car park before opening in Peckham in 2023. His ‘zas are made with a 72-hour fermented dough, and all the key ingredients are imported directly from Italy.

Menu highlights include the ‘Tunarella’, made with yellow cherry tomatoes, fior di latte mozzarella, red onions, black olive dust, and tuna fillets, and the ‘Meatballs and Ricotta Stuffed Crust’, which does what it says on the tin.

As well as pizza, 018 will be selling Neapolitan ‘tapas’, alongside Italian wine and cocktails. We can hear the aperitivos calling our name already.

081 Pizzeria, 46 Great Eastern Street, EC2A 3EP. Opens April 4.
