UPDATE Unfortunately this event has been postponed until June 2019. Andrew Holly, Operations Director and Balloon Regatta® Flight Director at Exclusive Ballooning, said: ‘We have today been advised by the Parks Team at Battersea Park that “The ground has retained a lot of moisture and is therefore too soft for vehicles to drive on to the grass.” Based on this, we have no option but to stand down the scheduled date of November 25.’

We’ve all heard of the song ‘99 Red Balloons’, but have you ever seen 50 giant hot-air balloons soaring through the sky in real life? Well now’s your chance. Reach for the skies on Sunday November 25 at 7.30am, and you’ll be greeted with the spectacular sight of giant inflatables in all kinds of shapes, floating past some of the capital’s greatest landmarks including Buckingham Palace, the London Eye and Tower Bridge.

The 2018 Ricoh Lord Mayor’s Hot Air Balloon Regatta is an annual celebration of the Lord Mayor’s Appeal, organised by Exclusive Ballooning. The mass aerial launch will start at 5am-5.30am in Battersea Park. Don’t worry about waking up at the crack of dawn to be first to get a glimpse, though: the park will be closed off to the public for safety.

Cameras at the ready, this event is going to blow up.
