Spring is finally upon us. From this weekend, the clocks go back and our days will start to become longer, brighter, warmer and basically better all-round.

So, how are you marking the start of the new season in the city? Perhaps rummaging for treasure at a vintage market, making the most of the outdoors or whipping up a storm at the Big London Bake. And of course, don’t forget that it’s Mother’s Day on Sunday

Whatever your plans, we’re here to help you get to where you need to be with as little stress as possible. We’ve rounded up all the planned closures and disruptions happening across London’s transport network this weekend so that you can plan ahead. Let’s get into it.

☀️ The best things to do in London this weekend.

DLR

On Saturday and Sunday there’ll be no DLR trains between Poplar/ Stratford International and Beckton/ Woolwich Arsenal. Your best alternative is to use Elizabeth line services between Custom House and Woolwich or the replacement buses in operation instead.

Waterloo and City

There’s no service on the Waterloo and City line on Saturdays, Sundays or public holidays.

London Overground

Mildmay line

On Friday morning, be aware that there are several changes to Mildmay services. The 12.15am Stratford to Willesden Junction service terminates at Camden Road, the 5.52am Willesden Junction to Clapham Junction starts from Shepherds Bush at 06.00am, the 6.08am Willesden Junction to Clapham Junction won’t run, the 6.11am am Stratford to Clapham Junction train starts from Shepherds Bush at 7.01am and the 6.51am Stratford to Richmond service starts from Willesden Junction at 7.37am.

Then there’ll be no Mildmay services between Camden Road and Stratford on Saturday. Replacement buses will be available along the route instead.

Suffragette line

No Suffragette trains are running between Barking and Barking Riverside on Sunday. TfL suggests you use local bus routes EL1, EL2 and EL3 to get to where you need to go.

Weaver line

After 10.45pm on Sunday, there’ll be no service on the Weaver line between Hackney Downs and Chingford. You should use the Underground, local bus routes or the replacement bus service L3 which will operate between Hackney Downs and Chingford via Clapton, St James Street, Walthamstow Central, Wood Street and Highams Park.

Windrush line

From 12.30am on Sunday, there are no Windrush services between Highbury & Islington and Dalston Junction. During the day, you’ll be able to hop on a replacement bus service between Camden Road and Stratford via Highbury & Islington, Canonbury and Dalston Kingsland.

On the same day, there are no Windrush services between Surrey Quays and Clapham Junction/ Battersea Park but a replacement bus will be operating instead. There will also be no Windrush trains between Surrey Quays and New Cross on Sunday. TfL says passengers should use Windrush line services to New Cross Gate, then walk or use local bus routes 53, 177 or 453.
