London tube and train closures this weekend: full list of travel disruption for February 28 to March 2

Watch out for cancellations on the Central line, District line and the Overground this weekend

Spring is around the corner, the weather is finally starting to warm up, it’s only right that you put some fun plans in your diary this weekend. As always, if you’re heading into the city, there are a bunch of transport disruptions and closures you should be aware of to make sure your journey is as smooth as it can be. 

From the Central line to the Stansted Express, we’ve gathered all of the Underground, Overground and National Rail disruptions happening this weekend and put them into a handy guide. These are all the changes you need to know about. 

RECOMMENDED: TfL tube, Overground and Elizabeth line fares are increasing from this weekend.

Underground 

Central 

On Saturday and Sunday, there will be no service between North Acton and West Ruislip. 

District 

There’ll be no District line trains between Earls Court and Kensington Olympia on Saturday 1 or Sunday 2 March. Passengers will be able to get a replacement bus instead.  

DLR

No DLR trains will run between Poplar / Stratford International and Beckton / Woolwich Arsenal on Saturday or Sunday. TfL recommends that you use the Elizabeth line between Custom House and Woolwich instead. Replacement buses will also be around to get you where you need to go. 

Waterloo and City 

There’s no service on the Waterloo and City line on Saturdays, Sundays or public holidays.

Elizabeth line

The Lizzie line strikes planned for this weekend have been called off but there’s still some disruption going on. On Sunday 2 March there will be no service between Paddington and Maidenhead from 12.40am until 7.40am. After that there will be a reduced service. There will also be no westbound trains serving Burnham and Taplow until 7pm. 

Overground

Suffragette

You won’t be able to get the Suffragette line between Gospel Oak and Woodgrange Park on Sunday. TfL says you should use Victoria line connections between Seven Sisters (for South Tottenham), Blackhorse Road and Walthamstow Central (for Walthamstow Queens Road). There will also be replacement buses operating. 

Weaver

There are no Weaver line trains running between Liverpool Street and Enfield Town/ Cheshunt/ Chingford on Sunday until 10.15am. You should use local London Buses and London Underground connections between Liverpool Street and Seven Sisters / Hackney Downs instead. 

National Rail 

Avanti West Coast 

The planned RMT strikes on the Avanti West Coast line this weekend have been called off however there is planned engineering work between Rugby and Milton Keynes Central on Saturday. That will affect the 9.37pm Wolverhampton to London Euston service and the 9.24pm and 9.42 pm London Euston to Wolverhampton services, which will all be diverted to run via Northampton. 

Stansted Express

Need to get to Stansted? You won’t be able to get the Stansted Express from London Liverpool Street to the airport on Saturday, March 1 or Sunday, March 2 due to scheduled engineering work. You can take a rail replacement bus or a National Express coach instead.
