It’s tricky to get around London without using any form of public transport – being able to walk to work in this vast city is a rare privilege. The majority of us therefore know the pain of being confronted with sudden unexpected disruptions going to and from the office. So the more you know ahead of time, the better.

Most TfL closures happen on the weekend so that there’s minimal disruption for commuters (we release our guides to those every Thursday, so be sure to keep an eye out). But whether it’s down to strikes or planned work, there are still a few closures happening mid-week.

There will likely be last-minute disruptions and cancellations that TfL can’t predict, but these are the ones we’ve been warned about.

Elizabeth line

On Thursday, February 27 drivers on the Lizzie line will be going on their first 12-hour strike out of four lined up for the next month. Elizabeth line services will be significantly disrupted and travellers are advised to find alternative routes.

Windrush

The Windrush line on the Overground will be closed on Monday, February 24 to Thursday, February 25 at Highbury and Islington to New Cross or New Cross Gate and Clapham Junction, after 9.15pm.
