Easter is around the corner, and that means that for a lot of us, it’s officially a four-day work week. That’s one less day to worry about last minute delays, cramming onto the tube and getting into the office on time for morning meetings – hallelujah!
But before the long weekend, we’ve still got to get through Monday to Thursday. So, we’ve sifted through all of the travel info for London’s train network for the next five days so you don’t have to. Don’t be caught off guard – these are all the planned TfL line and station disruptions to keep in mind ahead of your travels this week.
RECOMMENDED: Easter in London 2025.
DLR
On Good Friday there are no DLR services between Tower Gateway and Shadwell or between Westferry / West India Quay and Stratford / Canning Town. West India Quay station will be served by trains from Lewisham towards Bank only.
Elizabeth line
There’ll be reduced services across the Lizzie line on Good Friday. Less trains will be running between West Drayton and Maidenhead and at Heathrow Terminal 4. Services won’t be calling at Acton Main Line, Hanwell or West Ealing.
Piccadilly line
The Piccadilly line won’t run between Acton Town and Uxbridge on Friday. You can use the Metropolitan line between Acton Town and Uxbridge or a replacement bus instead.
Waterloo and City line
The Waterloo and City line will completely shut for the bank holidays.
Overground
Weaver line
The Weaver line will be partly closed between Hackney Downs and Enfield Town / Cheshunt after 10.45pm everyday from Monday to Thursday.
Windrush line
From Monday to Thursday, the last Windrush train from New Cross Gate to West Croydon at 11.55pm won’t run. Neither will the last train from New Cross Gate to Crystal Palace at 12.94am.
Stations
Bank (Central line, Northern line, DLR)
There’s reduced escalator service at Bank station until further notice. Right now, there’s no upwards escalator between the the Central / Northern line and the District line. You’ll need to exit the station via the Cannon Street entrance and re-enter at Monument.
Blackhorse Road (Victoria line)
If you’re getting on at Blackhorse Road station, be aware that there’s no down escalator service to the Victoria line until July. You’ll need to use the stairs instead.
Canning Town (Jubilee line, DLR)
There’s a reduced escalator service going to and from the platforms for the Jubilee line and DLR. Passengers can use the stairs or alternative escalators instead.
Cutty Sark (DLR)
Cutty Sark has no escalators running until further notice. TfL recommends you take the DLR from Greenwich station for a smoother journey.
Green Park (Jubilee line)
There’s no step-free access to or from the Jubilee line at Green Park station until August. You’re best off travelling via Westminster and Victoria using the Victoria line to/from Green Park.
Highgate (Northern line)
TfL recommends that people trying to get to Highgate might find it easier to get off the tube at Archway and complete their journey by bus. That’s because the escalator at Highgate station from the ticket hall to Archway Road remains closed for ongoing maintenance works.
Imperial Wharf Rail Station (National Rail)
On Monday and Tuesday, there’ll be no step-free lift operating between the ticket hall and platform one towards Clapham Junction or East Croydon.
Kew Gardens (District line, Mildmay line)
Heading to Kew? You should keep in mind that right now, the step-free platform interchange between platforms requires a 600m journey via the street.
London Bridge (Jubilee line, Northern line)
There’s a reduced escalator service between the ticket hall at London Bridge station and the Northern line mid-concourse level. TfL says this should only last until mid-March.
London Liverpool Street (Elizabeth line)
From 10pm on Monday 14 April, there’s no step-free access to the Elizabeth line from the Broadgate ticket hall at Liverpool Street

Shepherd’s Bush (Central line)
From Wednesday, 19 March to late August, there will be no down escalator at Shepherd’s Bush Central line station. Passengers will have to use the 70-step staircase down to the platform instead.
Surrey Quays Rail (Windrush line)
Keep in mind that the doors of the last carriage of the trains won’t open on the southbound platform of Surrey Quays restaurant station due to station improvement work.
Tower Gateway (DLR)
There’s no downwards escalator due to planned maintenance.
Whitechapel (Elizabeth line, Hammersmith and City, District, Windrush)
From Monday, April 14 to Sunday, April 27 there’s a reduced lift service between the ticket hall and the District and Hammersmith and City line platforms but there’ll be an alternative lift you can use instead.
