Have you browsed our roundup of wonderful things to do in London this weekend yet? Whether you’re heading to the theatre, planning a trip to the cinema, catching up with pals over brunch or checking out some art, likelihood is you’re going to have to catch a train to get there.

As we all know, that’s not always as easy as it sounds. Most weekends there are scheduled closures and cancellations across London’s rail and tube network so that important engineering work can get done with minimal disruption. And this weekend is no different.

From the Piccadilly line to the Stansted Express, these are all the closures and timetable changes to keep in mind this weekend.

Elizabeth line

There’ll be some closures and reduced service across the Elizabeth line this weekend. On Sunday from 12.40am to 7.45am there are no trains between Abbey Wood/ Stratford and Ealing Broadway. Then from 7.45am until 1pm there’s no service between Abbey Wood/ Stratford and Paddington and reduced service from Paddington and Heathrow Terminal 4/ Maidenhead.

DLR

On Saturday and Sunday there’s no DLR service between Bank/ Tower Gateway/ Stratford and Lewisham/ Canning Town. TfL recommends you use Jubilee line connections between Canary Wharf and Canada Water or replacement buses instead.

Piccadilly line

Piccadilly trains will be out of service between Rayners Lane and Uxbridge on both Saturday and Sunday. You should use Metropolitan line services instead.

Also on Saturday, there’ll be no services between 1am and 4.30am between King’s Cross St Pancras and Cockfosters. From 4.30am Saturday and all day Sunday there will be no trains between Wood Green and Cockfosters. Your alternative options are Victoria line services between Kings Cross St Pancras and Finsbury Park (for Saturday early morning) and the PL5 replacement bus.

Waterloo and City

There’s no service on the Waterloo and City line on Saturdays, Sundays or public holidays.

Overground

Mildmay

The Mildmay line will have a reduced service between Clapham Junction and Shepherds Bush on Sunday. Trains will run at irregular 15 or 30 minute intervals.

Windrush

On Sunday there will be no Windrush trains between Wandsworth Road and Clapham Junction. After Wandsworth Road, services will divert to/from Battersea Park. TfL says to use local buses or Southern trains between Battersea Park and Clapham Junction, where tickets will be accepted, to complete your journey.

National Rail

Stansted Express

You won’t be able to get the Stansted Express from London Liverpool Street to the airport on Saturday, March 8 or Sunday, March 9 due to scheduled engineering work. You can take a rail replacement bus or a National Express coach instead.

Great Northern

There’s engineering work happening on the Great Northern line this week. That means that trains from London King’s Cross won’t call at Harringay or Hornsey between 10.30pm on Friday and 5.10am on Saturday. You can use your ticket to travel on London buses instead.
