London travel disruption in April 2025: full list of TfL tube and train closures this month

Prepare for changes to DLR, Piccadilly and Elizabeth line services on Easter bank holiday and London Marathon weekend

And just like that, spring is here. It’s time to come out of hibernation, get outside and fill our calendars with all the fabulous stuff happening across the city this month. Music festivals are back on the cards, as is open-air theatreseasonal pop-ups and wholesome spring fairs

The London Marathon and the Boat Race will both be drawing big crowds in April, so we strongly recommend planning your journey well in advance if you’re gonna be there. And you’ll want to make sure you can get to all your Easter bank holiday plans, too. 

So, let’s get the boring, sensible bit out the way, shall we? These are all the tube and train closures and reduced services across London in April that we know about so far.

District line

  • On Sunday, April 6 the District line will be closed between Turnham Green and Richmond. 

Jubilee line

  • Southwark station (on the Jubilee line) will be shut after 11pm everyday from Friday, April 4 to Sunday, April 6

DLR

  • DLR services between Bank and Tower Gateway to Canning Town and Lewisham and from 
    Canary Wharf to Stratford won’t be running on Saturday, April 5 or Sunday, April 6. Prepare for reduced services across the whole DLR on Friday, April 11
  • Between Friday, April 18 and Monday April 21, services from Tower Gateway to Shadwell, Stratford to West India Quay and Westferry to Canning Town are all called off. 

Elizabeth line

  • On Sunday, April 13 watch out for reduced Lizzie line services between West Drayton and Maidenhead
    and at Heathrow Terminal 4, Acton Main Line, Hanwell and West Ealing.
  • From Friday, April 18 to Monday, April 21 there’s reduced service between West Drayton and Maidenhead and at Heathrow Terminal 4 but trains won’t be calling at Acton Main Line, Hanwell or West Ealing. 
  • Then after 10pm on April 22-23 there will be fewer trains running again between West Drayton and Maidenhead and at Heathrow Terminal 4. They won’t be stopping at Acton Main Line, Hanwell or West Ealing from 10.30pm onwards. All day on Sunday, April 27 there’ll be reduced services between West Drayton and Maidenhead and at Heathrow Terminal

Piccadilly 

  • You won’t be able to get Piccadilly trains from Acton Town to Uxbridge between Friday, April 18 and Monday, April 21

Mildmay line

  • Mildmay services between Willesden Junction to Richmond are cancelled on Sunday, April 6 and Sunday, April 13
  • On April 6, there’ll be no Mildmay trains from Camden Road to Stratford after 10.15pm. 
  • On Monday, April 28, Stratford to Camden services after 11.45pm are cancelled and on Wednesday, April 30, eastbound services from Willesden Junction to Stratford will stop at 11pm. 

Lioness line

  • On Saturday, April 19 and Monday, April 21 you won’t be able to get the Lioness line from Euston to Kilburn High Road. On Sunday, April 20, trains aren’t running between Euston and Watford Junction. 

Weaver line

  • Trains from Hackney Downs to Chingford will stop after 10.45pm on Thursday, April 3. 

Windrush line

  • No Windrush trains from Highbury and Islington to Dalston Junction after 10.15pm on Sunday, April 6. From April 19-21 services from Surrey Quays to Clapham Junction will be down. 
  • On Monday, April 21, Sydenham to West Croydon services finish at 11.30pm and on Tuesday, April 22 and Thursday, April 24, they stop running after 10.15pm. Then, on April 28, New Cross Gate to Crystal Palace and West Croydon services stop after 11.30pm.  

Suffragette line

  • You won’t be able to use Suffragette services from Barking to Barking Riverside on Sunday, April 20. On the same day, trains from Gospel Oak to Barking will only get up and running from 10am.
