If you work, live in, or have visited London, you will have faced the peril of having to dodge commuters on the concourse of our hellishly busy train stations. Now, it’s been confirmed that 10 of the UK’s most packed stations are all here in the big smoke, with Liverpool Street retaining its title as the busiest in Britain for the second year in a row.

Thanks to the Elizabeth line, London Liverpool Street is still the station where you’re most likely to feel like a sardine. It was GB’s busiest station in 2023 too, but this year it had even more people passing through it: Liverpool Street gained 14 million more entries and exits than the previous year. Figures from the Office of Rail and Road revealed that a whopping 94.5 million passengers used the east London hub in 2024.

Tottenham Court Road, which is also on the Lizzie line, climbed four places from seventh to third, with 64.2 million passengers passing through in 2024.

Other London stations on the list included Paddington in second place, Waterloo in fourth and Stratford in fifth.
