Lidl is currently on a bit of a roll in London. Back in May the much-loved German affordable supermarket chain revealed huge plans to open over 200 new outposts in the capital, then in September it had a pop-up all about its viral croissant handbags. In October Lidl announced it’d be opening two more London supermarkets – and now we know exactly when they’ll open.
Next week Lidl will open three stores – all of which are either in London or reachable by some Londoners. They’ll all open on Thursday November 12. So, where’ll they be?
One Lidl will be in Forest Gate in east London, on Woodgrange Road. Another will welcome customers to an expanded and refurbed supermarket on Heathway in Dagenham. The third Lidl is in Caterham in Surrey, which is a short-ish drive from south London suburbs Croydon and Sutton.
All three new Lidl’s will boast the brand’s beloved bakery, and they’ll apparently bring 100 new jobs.
Commenting on the openings, Lidl’s regional property director Olu Johnson said: ‘Opening three stores in a single day in London is a true reflection of the remarkable progress we’re making in the capital as we celebrate our 30th anniversary in Great Britain.
‘As demand continues to grow, we’re proud to help households stretch their budgets without compromising on quality—especially as we approach the festive season. We look forward to welcoming both loyal and new shoppers through our doors in the lead-up to the big day.’
Here are the new stores’ opening hours:
- Lidl Forest Gate: 7am-10pm (Mon-Sat), 11am-5pm (Sun)
- Lidl Dagenham: 8am-10pm (Mon-Sat), 10am-4pm (Sun)
- Lidl Caterham: 7am-10pm (Mon-Sat), 10am-4pm (Sun)
