When it comes to street art, London is up there with the best of them. But it's worth venturing beyond the city for the sweeping murals that cover this cute art gallery in Eastbourne.

To celebrate its tenth anniversary, the Towner Art Gallery which is home to exhibitions, talks and screenings, has had a major makeover. The little space has been transformed into a huge piece of art, its white walls now covered in a beautiful rainbow. The gallery's new look is the handiwork of the London- based artist Lothar Götz, who responded to an open call to shake-up the seaside museum.

Götz has not disappointed, covering three sides of the building with multi-coloured candy stripes. Enough to brighten up the greyest of summer days.
